Nickname: Loretta's Favourite Smoothie. After experimenting with the protein powder and raspberries for this smoothie, we've determined that we don't need to add any other recipes to the blog because this one is all we ever want to drink again. (Kidding ... but almost true!)
Why We Love This
Our raspberry white chocolate protein smoothie only has 6 ingredients and one of them is water. It only contains ingredients we always have on hand, like frozen raspberries and coconut milk.
This is a great recovery smoothie for post-workout. It's very refreshing, has enough protein and carbs to get you back up and delivers with only 300 calories for the whole thing!
How It Tastes
Ok, just a caveat here. The ingredients you use are a huge factor in how much you will like this smoothie. We tried it with some generic (read: Coles) white chocolate and Michelle Bridges ancient grains vanilla protein powder. It was ... pretty average the first time. It was also a slightly purple colour, not a bright pink.
So, we actually weren't going to post this recipe. Then we re-made it with our own protein powder and Cadbury white chocolate chips. AMAZING. The difference was stark. The Cadbury chips shone and our Nom Nom protein powder was incredibly smooth and very much a clean vanilla taste.
Also, Loretta is a huge fan of raspberry & white chocolate in any food. To get a great tasty smoothie that keeps that traditional flavour in a smoothie is quite a feat. Using the right ingredients for this is a MUST but when you do, it tastes just as you would hope.
